The Grandfather was a ghost that was present in all buildings. He would appear outside of the school stalking you and staring at you from the windows.
He was eventually removed for presumably being 'too scary' however he is still present in the .nop files of the final original game.
Some people are estimated the ghost is 'The Dormitory Captain's Spirit'. But this fact was not definitely known.
